On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the annual meeting of the Union of South American and MERCOSUR Parliamentarians (UPM) took place at the University of the Argentine Business School UEAN. The UPM is an institution that refers to a regional order, to which provincial, state and departmental legislators, municipal mayors and local legislators from the member countries of MERCOSUR belong, in particular from Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina.
In this framework, an inter-institutional academic collaboration agreement was signed between the UPM and EAN, which allows the development of joint projects.

The first project presented is the Productive Observatory that EAN seeks to develop in alliance with different entities linked to the economic sectors of the region. In particular, the objective is to systematize a sectoral and territorial diagnosis for business decision-making and treatment within the framework of public policies.

The categories of analysis to be worked on in the aforementioned Observatory, through the collection of statistical information, surveys, in-depth interviews and focus groups to be carried out with representatives of the productive sector are:
– Incidence of macroeconomic variables on business
– Recent evolution and perspective of the level of billing, production and costs
– Foreign trade
– Tax pressure – Labor aspects and labor market
– Environmental challenges
– Investment projection and incorporation of technology in products, production processes and management.
In this way, the EAN will generate research applied to real contexts that will then impact the classrooms and dissemination spaces of the university system and, in parallel, will collaborate in providing information for the management of business and public policy.
